It’s hard to believe that Christmas is next week. This year has flown by! Many of us will be cooking up a ham as part of our holiday meal to serve to our friends and family.
Let me give you a tip – hang on to that ham bone and any leftover ham! Use it to whip up a batch of Hurst Family Harvest Split Pea Soup with Ham! You will not regret it!
My buddy over at Nicole’s Nickels shared her recipe – it’s fast and the perfect way to use that extra ham and ham bone. Plus, we know that at $2.99 for eight full servings, this is a super frugal meal option.
Many of us will be spending a bunch of time preparing the holiday meal itself. Nicole’s Split Pea Soup using Hurst beans means that we can have a couple of meals after the holidays with very little effort! I am doing a ham and frying a turkey plus a whole bunch of other sides. I will definitely be whipping up some Split Pea soup just so I have a couple of meals covered with just one pot.
Nicole is also giving away a $25 Publix gift card. Head over and check out her recipe and her giveaway!
Don’t forget, my round two giveaway is open until 12/30 and the folks at Hurst also have a fun contest on Facebook where you can win a $100 grocery store gift card. A few minutes to enter could mean lots of moolah in your pocket!
mmmmm would love a nice soup on these chilly days we have been having 🙂
