I wanted to share our first recipe for the Publix Menu plan for the ad that starts on Thursday (Wednesday for some). Put a meal of Asian BBQ Drumsticks, Steamed Rice, and Roasted Asparagus on the table for your family and you might just win mom of the year…ok at least mom of the week 😉
I have shared my Asian BBQ Drumsticks recipe before (you can see the recipe HERE). With the price of drumsticks in the new ad, it’s time to bring this baby out again. You will notice that you will need to grab 4 pounds of chicken to get the price. I made a huge batch of chicken and then will eat the leftovers throughout the week. Pull the chicken off the bone and it’s fabulous on a salad!
Of course you can also do simple BBQ chicken legs but this one is just so good. It’s also a very easy recipe so give it a try!
4 lbs Publix Chicken Drumsticks or Thighs, All Natural, 4 lb or more, $1.49/lb = $5.96
Hoisin Sauce – $2.95
Publix Brown Sugar = 89¢
Kikkoman Ponzu = $2.29 ($1.74 after $0.55/1 IP)
Garlic – 50¢
Ginger – $1
Mahatma Rice = 7¢ ($0.50/1 insert)
Asparagus, $2.49/lb = $1.25
This one will run you about $15.61 but you have tons of leftover chicken, extra rice and a boatload of extra ingredients to do this one again!
Where would I find Hoisin sauce?
I find it next to the soy sauce at publix. Usually one of the top two shelves 🙂
