The first recipe I am sharing for our menu plan to match the Publix ad for the week of 4/3 is – Sweet & Sour Meatballs.
This is such an easy recipe and extremely easy on the budget. I always like to do a double batch of meatballs and freeze some. That way I have knocked out a couple of meals with not much additional effort!
The key to this recipe is the sauce. While you could just grab a jar of sweet and sour sauce…I think this one is so much better AND you can pronounce all the ingredients 😉
Head over to my I Heart Kitchen site to see the full recipe. With a few pantry staples and the Publix sale, you can put this meal together for under $9!
- Publix Ground Chuck, $3.99/lb
- Publix Brown Sugar 89¢
- Pineapple, $1.69
- Panko Bread Crumbs = $2.19
- Mahatma Rice 9¢ ($0.50/1 insert coupon)
I made this recipe awhile back and my entire family loved it. That is a miracle in itself since I have a picky DH and 6 kids. Thanks Michelle for the great recipes!!!
Just tried this recipe for the first time and loved it! The meatballs were really tender and full of flavor. I added recipe ready bell pepper trio and onions to the sauce. Thank you for your weekly recipes that save time and money for us busy moms! 🙂
We tried this recipe as well this week. It was a hit! I also added the Recipe Ready bell pepper trio as did the reader before me and it turned out great! It’s been an absolute time and money saver for me and I really appreciate this feature. Thank you!
your posting these recipes to match the sale is AWESOME!!!! I tried this recipe today and it was great – and I don’t really care for sweet & sour sauce at all. This saves so much time. I know it takes you lots of time to match the meals with the sales and post the recipes – I truly appreciate what you are doing and hope you continue – at least until I get the hang of doing it myself 🙂
