Have you guys started shopping for school supplies yet? As you can tell by the SIX stuffed bags, I am officially done! My boys start back this Thursday so I had to knock out the lists and prep their bags so they can have everything they need for that first day of school!

Their supply lists were long and it took me forever just to sort everything out. I decided to put Jake’s stuff in the green bags and Jeb’s in the red bags just so it would be easier to tell them apart. That first day of school is going to be chaotic!

As you can see, both boys’ teachers have Ziploc^® brand bags on their list. We all know how great they are around the house. They are also great in the classroom. While we find them useful for storing food and leftovers, teachers can use them to separate academic lessons. Worksheets and manipulatives can be organized into bags so each group of kids get the work that they need.

They make things easy for teachers because they are clear so they can quickly see what’s in the bag. Plus, there’s no need for special equipment. That’s important since teachers rarely get money for those supplies!

So while you are working on your school supply lists, be sure to pick up a couple of extra boxes of Ziploc^® brand bags and containers while you are at Publix. You’ll need a few for yourself but then be sure to grab enough to send with your kiddos, their teachers will appreciate the donation!

Gallon Ziplocs. I use them frequently in the kitchen and around the house. And, I carefully fold things such as windbreakers, gloves, and rain coats and put them in gallon Ziplocs, and squeeze out the air before closing. Makes it easier to carry in the car and when traveling.

We get the most use out of Ziploc sandwich bags. I try not to buy pre-packaged snacks, so I usually have to divide big bags of things out.

I like the gallon size to keep all of my coupon inserts from the different weeks separate from each other. I also like the sandwich size to transport everything from food to things to keep the kids buzy on the go.

I LOVE the freezer bags with the pump. They work just as well as the machine, but are a lot less expensive. I have kept meat frozen for months in them with no freezer burn. By the way, the ONLY place I can find them is at Publix!

I like to put game board pieces in quart size bags. It’s easier to keep up with checkers, monopoly, connect four and any other game pieces you’d tend to lose just by putting them in the game box loose.

I like to use the gallon Ziploc when traveling to hold my cosmetics. The clear bags makes finding what I need easy and they keep everything together in a sometimes limited space.

For me, I use the Ziploc freezer pint size bags–they are great to put the chicken I buy for my dogs by splitting it into smaller portions, that way we pull out only what we want to cook when we need fresh chicken for their snacks. Also, I use them to carry cough drops in my purse and on my bedside table–they keep them organized and readily available when I need them.

Hi! I found an excellent use for Ziploc sandwich bags just this week! I’m a baker and I’ve been tweaking my vanilla cake recipe to find the perfect chocolate cupcake recipe. To cut down on waist, I try to make just 2-3 cupcakes per tweak. Well, last time I wanted to adjust the flour to cocoa ratio by just the right amount, I pulled out my kitchen scale and a box of Ziploc sandwich bags! The baggies weigh less than a gram and they’re the perfect size to hold just enough flour, cocoa, salt and leaven for a few cupcakes. Also, when i want to mix the dry ingredient together, I just have to shake the bag! Perfect and tasty.

Perfect Chocolate Cupcakes! (Bake at 375 for 14 min, turn once in oven, makes 12 regular sized cakes)

Wet
150g Super fine sugar (make your own, it’s easy)
1 Stick (8oz) unsalted butter
2 Egg + 1 Yolk
2 tsp. Vanilla extract
2 Tbsp. Really hot whole milk
(microwave 30 seconds)

Dry
62g Cocoa powder (not dutch pressed)
62g Cake flour
¾ tsp. Baking powder
¾ tsp. Baking soda
¼ tsp. Salt

Icing
½ Stick unsalted butter
175g Powdered sugar
50g Cocoa powder
2 Tbsp. Whole milk
2 tsp. Vanilla extract

Cake Instructions
1) Sift dry ingredient together. Set aside.
2) In another bowl, beat the sugar with soft butter until super fluffy (don’t skip this part.)
3) Add in eggs slowly.
4) Add vanilla and beat a little more.
5) Add dry mixture in about 3 parts, folding between each addition.
6) Add boiling milk and mix for about 20 seconds.
7) Separate batter into 12 cupcake liners.

Icing Instructions
1) Sift powdered sugar and cocoa together.
2) Make sure butter is really soft by blending.
3) Add ½ powdered sugar mixture, milk and vanilla, mix.
4) Add the rest of the sugar mixture. Beat until fluffy.

Is picking your favorite Ziploc product like picking your favorite child? For me, I can’t, I like them all (or in the case of my children – love) the same.

I use the sandwich and snack bags daily. I use the quart size storage bags for schoolwork and supplies. The gallon storage and freezer bags are great for grocery bulk shopping-breakdowns.

I guess my “new bestie” is the small round storage containers with the twist on lids. These keep spills at bay and are great for taking snacks to the park.

We use EVERY kind of Ziploc bag and container, but I find the containers to be the most useful because they stack so well. We are pressed for storage in our new, downsized house, so I need my Ziploc containers more than ever! If you stack things correctly in closets, cupboards and drawers, you can fit a ton in there without any wasted space! Ziploc’s are fantastic!!

Zip log bags of all sizes are life saves in my house. In kitchen I use it for storing many dry ingredients in gallon size bags for easy viewing, store washed uncut veggies for locking moisture and much more. I am headed to the beach this weekend and just packed a box of gallon sized Ziploc bags. There are so many uses for them other than just holding wet sandy clothes!

I go through my recipes before I go ( we are on a budget so going out to eat every night is not possible) and premeasure all of the spices that I am going to need for a recipe in to snack size Ziploc bags. I also measure out any other dry ingredients into bags. Makes meals so much easier to fix after a day at the beach. It is also nice to have the gallon size bags for leftovers- rental condos never seem to have any Tupperware!

We use gallon-sized Ziploc bags all over the house. Probably one of my favorite uses is for travel — I can fit our large shampoos, lotions, mouthwash in a couple of them before putting in our duffel bag, and I don’t have to worry about leakage. I reuse them (just keep them stored in the duffel bag) until they’re either gooey or worn.

I love the little sandwich size for sure, but my favorite size is the big huge sliders. I use them to store everything, my favorite use is packing for trips. I label them with the kids names and what is in them, so anyone can grab the kids cloths and not get confused. They are Grandpa proof!

I seem to use the quart size freezer bags the most, or at least that is what I purchase the most of. But i use the snack and sandwich size daily for my kiddos lunch. So my favorite ziplock size would have to be the quart freezer bags!

I use the Quart size bags the most. When my children were little and we were moving, I put a lot of their small toys in ziploc bags to keep up with them.

I find myself using the gallon size the most. I put my boyfriend’s lunch in it for work, usually one or two sandwiches and a snack. When my kids open snacks that are large and only eat a small portion, I use the gallon size to wrap up the rest so it doesn’t go stale. I also use them for things like extra cell phones and cords, receipts, and sunscreen bottles for easy carry.

Quart sized freezer bags are great for dividing large packages of hamburger meat for freezing. Just flatten the meat in the bag and it freezes faster and also cooks faster when you take it out!

I can’t live with out Ziploc bags. I use it for just about every thing!!
The freezer bags are my favorite, separating food in amount I need to quickly prepare dinner or fruit shakes.
