So am I the only one who is lucky enough to have creepers during dinnertime? You know…those little fingers that creep in to the pot while you are cooking. Maybe it’s a husband whose constantly “taste testing” everything as you mix and stir.
I learned a long time ago that it’s often in my best interest to set up a little snack before dinner just so I can get everything completed without lots of interruptions. The folks at Sabra have coined this snack time the “Unofficial Meal”. It’s that meal time when there are no rules…the in-between meal time. At my house it’s when everyone gathers at the bar to talk about the day and chow down!
With a husband who works hard all day and two growing boys – that Unofficial Meal has come to be a necessity. My guys are usually starving and one of the quickest and easiest options that will please everyone is Sabra Hummus.
On a busy day, I will just pop the top and serve with chips or veggies but when I have time…I like to kick it up a notch and add some toppers. Often I will even match it up to the meal that I am serving. You guys know that I am a huge fan of Mexican foods so whenever I am doing a taco salad or nachos, I’ll put out the Sabra and let my guys add some Mexican flair to their Unofficial Meal too!
Sabra with fresh jalapeño and avocado is a thing of joy. In the next bite you can change it up with fresh tomatoes, onion and a little cilantro. Add corn and black beans with a squeeze of lime–amazing! As you can see my guys almost fight over the tub!
I think the Unofficial Meal might be my favorite time of the day. I look forward to the time that we can spend together catching up on the day. That informal meal gives us the opportunity to relax and the best part is I can do dinner without interruptions from those creepers!
Next time you are in Publix grab a couple of tubs of Sabra for your #UnofficialMeal. Then enjoy the time with your family and friends…those are the times when all the best stuff usually happens!

I have been a member of this web site for several years now. I just can’t get over how much your boys have grown over these few years. And getting handsomer every day. Thanks for continuing to have IHEARTPUBLIX> I save bnth time and money.
How fun to see your handsome boys! When my five were growing up I used to put out a plate of raw veggies and just ‘ignore’ them snitching them. They would not have eaten them without complaining during the meal. Sneaky Mom. 🙂
