I love to entertain and have lots of folks come hang out. When I was building my house, I spent just as much time designing the outdoor space as I did the indoor area. I wanted to make sure that I could have get-togethers where everyone would enjoy themselves and be comfortable.
While I can control the food and the decor at my parties, those pesky mosquitos often show up uninvited.
Luckily there are OFF!® products that help me when I am entertaining. The area repellents make it easy for me to protect my guests. The OFF!® Mosquito Lamp provides up to six hours of mosquito protection for any outdoor party. It provides mosquito protection for outdoor gatherings by repelling mosquitoes up to 10×10 feet. The heat from the candle activates repellent from the diffuser, releasing mosquito protection.
I used them during my Memorial Day party and we were able to party late into the evening with great protection. They are such a convenient way to protect an outdoor area!

When entertaining guests, I like to use small white mini lights and wrap them around branches and the trunks of several trees in the yard, helps my guests to be able to see their surroundings much better.
Make sure to have lots of frozen treats on hand.

We have a 12×12 canopy with small twinkle lights around the inside top…just enough light to see everything without being too bright. We also have boston ferns hanging in each corner. Makes for a very “tropical” feeling when entertaining guests outside. Plenty of food and drinks for everyone, too!

We have a 12×12 Canopy with tiny lights around the inside top that makes seeing everything easy, but not too bright that it’s distracting. We also have Boston Ferns hanging in each corner, which gives sort of a “tropical” feeling. With plenty of food and drinks for guests!

Always have plenty of cold drinks available–living in Florida, the summer heat takes it out of you.
Also, have a plan B in case the weather doesn’t cooperate.
We set everything up outside to keep traffic out of house and less clean up

Love to entertain outside with lots of outside games and then jump in the pool to cool it all off.

I think it is important to have lots of finger foods/appetizers readily available for all of your guests that way everyone is able to eat and drink while they are visiting.
We like to have plenty of choices of foods and drinks at a party so to hopefully accommodate any dietary restrictions.

Limit appetizers and sides to 2 or 3 choices (make plenty of each). It will save you time and money. Guest generally try 1-3 of each appetizer so the more choices the more you have to make. So keep it simple!!

if serving buffet style try stations instead of one huge buffet. It forces people to mingle more and it also avoids traffic jams.
Make food that can be prepped ahead of time and just pull out of the fridge when they arrive.

Prepare as much as possible before guests arrive so you can enjoy yourself instead of working the entire time.
Makes dining outside easier!
Serve colorful, eye appealing fruits, vegetables, and more.
I always like having finger foods, and various activities to keep the kids entertained so that the adults can enjoy some time.
I almost always serve Mexican food when I entertain. Most people can find something they like whether they make nachos or tacos or a bow. It feeds a wide variety of diets from vegetarian to gluten free. And, I can prepare it ahead of time and throw it into chaffing dishes for hours worth of grazing!

Put hand towel type napkins in the bathroom for easy hand drying and avoid spreading germs with a regular towel….and smile!
We love having friends over for food & fun! But we live in Florida the mosquito capital! So we usually try to have our gatherings in the afternoon before dark. Swimming, music & grilling is always at hit. But I always like to have the bean bag boards set up to give a little diversity!
Have plenty of OFF to chase away those mosquitos who were not invited.
Make a plan ahead of time of what you are going to prepare and buy. Try to make as much of the food the day before if possible. Have plenty of ice available to keep food cold (if outside) and for drinks . Try to have meat free options for people who are limiting or do not eat meat, since these items can also be eaten by meat eaters.
Adult beverages make every party more fun.

When entertaining outside in the summer, purchase lots of sturdy paper plates and cups. So many of those products are flimsy, making for spills! Use OFF products to keep those pests from dining on your guests!
My tip is to make a variety of dishes ahead of time, setup areas and enjoy your guests.

When we host a party we find it is so much easier for guests and hosts if we have a theme. We use holidays or just because themes like Let’s Celebrate Astronauts! That way everyone knows what food to bring. We encourage costumes too.
