It’s official—there’s only one week until Thanksgiving! Are you ready?
By now, you probably have your list of foods that you will be making as well a general idea of who all is coming to dinner. This is the time to make sure you have everything you need to accommodate your guests and all that food. While it may sound trivial, making sure you have all the small details nailed down will ensure that your day goes smoothly and is as stress-free as possible.
Think about it…everyone is going to need a place to sit. Even if you don’t plan on having formal seating arrangements, you do need to make sure that no one is left standing. Take a minute to double check that you can find a place to seat everyone.
You also need to make sure you have enough plates and utensils to go around. It’s always a good idea to plan for a few extra place settings just in case unexpected guest arrive, folks decide to hit the dinner buffet a few times or if dishes take a spill.
Don’t forget about serving dishes and utensils! Those are often overlooked and you find yourself scrambling to figure out what to use to serve up those mashed potatoes before they get cold!

For me it’s that last minute scramble to make sure the house is sparkling clean. I love the hustle and scramble though. It’s all worth it in the end. You get to hibernate and do online shopping with a ton of leftovers for the long weekend.
