The smell of fresh cut pine tree fills my home as my family and I get ready for the holidays. Glade Sparkling Spruce fills every part of my home with the wonderful scent of the holidays. I make sure the windows are shiny and the curtains and linens are fresh and clean.
To prepare my home for guests, I make sure I clean and dust each room. If I run out of time dusting, and don’t get to the ceiling fans, I turn them all on, so no one notices the dust on the blades.
We all pitch in and clean the house. That includes lots of new candles so everything smells holiday fresh!

Aside from cleaning, I prepare small receiving gift baskets for overnight guests with water, snacks and a list of fun things to do in the area.

I pick up some new hand towels for the guest bathroom along with some nice smelling hand soap and put our wifi password in a frame next to the bed so our guests can connect their phones. I also make sure I have what they like to drink in the fridge cold.
I’m a total clean freak but even more so when I know I have family and friends coming over, I do everything from dusting to sweeping , windows to steam cleaning and everything in between! About an hour or two before everyone shows I light the candles and plug in the scented wax warmers so my home smells like Apple pie ! ☺

I make sure the beds have fresh linens and the good towels are out for my guests. I make special holiday foods especially those that are my guests’ favorites. I also serve their favorite coffee or tea flavors.

I wash all of the linens ahead of time. Do anything that seems trivial so it doesn’t t take time on Thanksgiving morning. Having everything prepared ahead of time makes it easy.

I love to get fresh flowers and seasonal plants in the house for family gatherings. It’s the one time I splurge on fresh cut flowers!
I like to rearrange furniture, get new curtains and refresh the look of my home. I also like to get some smell good fall scents.
