Good news…in addition to the great deals, the folks at P&G are giving a $100 Publix gift card to one I Heart Publix reader.
Entry is simple! You just need to complete the task below. As a reminder, comments left on Facebook, Twitter or other posts will not be included. I will choose the winner on Thursday 2/2 at 11 pm.
REQUIRED ENTRY:
Share how you use your FREE chicken to prep meals for your family/friends and take the stress of meal prep off your plate! Atlanta folks, you can tell me what you might use that $5 gift card for! Just share it in the comments.
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of P&G. The opinions and text are all mine.
I use the chicken to make enchiladas or chicken tortilla soup. Yummy!!!!
I use the chicken to make chicken salad. I don’t like the canned chicken.
I use the chicken for a couple of meals. Easy dinner one night then shred the rest for other recipes.
Shred it. Chicken taco
I cube the chicken and add a little mayo — a yummy (and super simple) chicken salad sandwich!!
We love chicken quesadillas. Add some taco seasoning and saute in a pan. Yummy.
I love the free chicken promo! I work at Publix and pick up the deal when I get off work for an easy dinner that night. Our “go to” meal is a chicken croissant ring. We use the tube of crescent rolls and make a ring and add in additional ingredients I have on hand. Also, I take the dark meat and puree it for my baby boy. He loves it! Everyone is satisfied. 🙂
Makes a great dinner with sides, then use the rest for chicken salad!
Why should the Atlanta district be punished? Cheapest item that qualifies is 3.99 (without coupons). 3.99 times three is 11.97.
Atlanta folks have to purchase $25! for a $5 Gift Card. To equal the playing field, it really ought to be buy three items, get a $5 Gift Card.
I agree with you completely. Not only do we have to pay more to get the $5 gift card, but the chicken is a “higher value” giving you an even better return for your money. I love Publix and the customer service, but with all the changes they have made in the last year or two (lack of competitor coupons they will accept, no longer doubling coupons, no more penny item, fewer coupon circulars (so they run out sooner), etc) I do not shop there near as much. Unfortunately, the good customer service doesn’t stretch my budget. More and more I am shopping at Aldi and Walmart Neighborhood for items that aren’t on sale or that my coupon will be the same value on an item that is less expensive. Although Aldi doesn’t take coupons, there store brands are less expensive all around. Both of these stores are on my way home so I am not driving out of my way.
The most expensive product is 7.99 and three of those would only total $23.97 so at a minimum you have to buy 4 items in the Atlanta area. Pretty crummy promo switch.
Road trip? Haha!
My family love the Publix roasted chicken as is with all the trimmings from Publix (potato salad!). There’s never any leftovers, but I would make chicken stock with the carcass afterwards.
I would use the $5 gift card for produce since there are few coupons for produce.
I would use the $5 gift card on seafood. I love shrimp!
I would use the gift card for my husband’s expensive protein bars!
use it for meals throughout the week
chicken soup
Chicken salad.
Making chicken pot pie is a family favorite
Salad
Making chicken salad or chicken BBQ is always an easy family meal.
With busy work days for my husband and I, it is so easy to just stop in Publix’s and pick up a roasted chicken & potato salad….that’s my kind of cooking.
I would use it to make chicken spaghetti or chicken enchiladas.
I use it to make chicken salad.
We eat it as it, just add a side and veggie! Quick easy dinner.
I get the rotisseries often.. So easy to use in any recipe….
I love it shredded and layered with steak and Provolone a tea spoon of milk and topped with crescent roll dough.. With all cooked ingredients 325° oven for 20 minutes …. Its so so good!
I make chicken salad with mine.
Just as it is, makes a great centerpiece of a good meal.
I would use my free chicken to make some meals ahead for the week like chicken enchiladas, chicken quesadillas, chicken soup then I would take the carcass and make some chicken broth that I would freeze for future meals.
We eat it hot first, then leftovers on sandwiches and salads.
The chicken is 3 meals – no muss, no fuss. I would use the $5 to get another CHICKEN!
I would use the $5 GC to get some free Fruit and veggies. We eat a lot and Publix is higher than other stores in that area. I would LOVE to use Publix for all my shopping needs but as a family of 5, it is not possible!
I serve it hot from the deli with some sides and whatever is left I make chicken salad for lunch the next day!
There are SO many ways to use cooked chicken, especially when it’s free! My favorites are just to pull pieces off and top my salad or to add some cheese and beans and put into a small tortilla for quick chicken tacos!
Just so good ole chicken salad.
The whole chicken is dinner one night with sides and what is left is picked and frozen for soup, etc. later on.
Chicken for dinner, the leftovers shredded for wraps then the bones and skins go into a pressure cooker for stock.
Hot chicken with mashed potatoes & gravy, corn and rolls.
Chicken salad with leftovers..
I would use the gift card on the fried chicken wings from the deli. They are my favorite.
Best chicken salad ever!
I would serve my family the free rotisserie chicken with salad, rice and dinner rolls.
It makes for a quick and easy sandwich for lunch or supper
I use the chicken in several ways-with salads; then sandwiches; and chicken and dumplings. Love these chicken deals
I just pull it off the bone and make sandwiches. They are juicy and delicious!
Love the chicken with all the fixins the first night…..then use the rest for sandwiches.
we eat the chicken with a side of veggie, yellow rice and a hawaiian roll yum.
Chicken noodle soup, yum.
Eat it hot for dinner & shred the left overs for wrap sandwiches later
I use the chicken to top a nice healthy lunch or dinner salad!
Chicken Salad
The $5 gift card would be used to purchase fresh veggies and/or fruit!
I make a garden salad before going to Publix, then upon returning just open that FRESH chicken and rip into ……….. oh my
Fresh Rotisserie Chicken, mashed taters, gravy, green beans and hot rolls then going to make chicken & wild rice casserole for will make enough for couple of meals. 🙂
I just eat the chicken on nights when I don’t feel like making dinner. It disappears.
I make extra homemade mashed potatoes and freeze the leftovers. When I buy rotisserie chicken (or get it for free), I thaw the homemade mashed potatoes and put a side of green beans with them and I have a great meal for my family!
I add sides and rolls, warm the rotisserie back up and dinner is served. It’s always moist and delicious.
I shred up the chicken and freeze it to add to homemade soups, chicken tacos and quesadillas. A big speedy help in the kitchen.
For a lazy night eat chicken as purchased with potato salad on the side.
I make Chicken and Dumplings! Great short cut to a yummy dinner.
I’m in the Atlanta market and I would use the gift card to buy rotisserie chicken, tee-hee. There is nothing I love more than making a salad and putting their chicken on top. Thank you so much for all you do and bringing this opportunity to all of us!
I’d use the $5 gift card to buy Publix chicken tenders.
We eat it for several meals, first as chicken then use the cooked leftovers for a casserole
First meal, chicken and some sides, like beans and slaw. Leftovers, or “planned-overs” go in soups, salads, casseroles, or something Mexican.
Chicken Enchiladas.
WE have the chicken, a Reser side of Scallop potatoes & a veggie. A great dinner is ready in a few minutes. Easy clean-up
I would make a side of roasted sweet potato & cauliflower to go with the rotisserie chicken.
I serve the chicken with a quick salad and everyone at my house loves it.
Use it in homemade chicken vegetable soup.
We use the rotisserie chicken for easy lunches for our boys.
We have the chicken with broccoli or green beans and salad the first night and then use leftover chicken for chicken enchiladas or quesadillas the next night! We are on a low carb diet so this is a real delicious treat for us.
My mom used to shred the chicken and make the most delicious chicken salad for sandwiches and salads! Yum!
It’s dinner that night, usually with a vegetable and mashed potatoes.
When I visit family or have Church activities in the afternoon I pick up a chicken and Deli sides or from the meat section and heat up some vegetables. It’s only 3 of us so the next day I use what’s left over and make Chicken and yellow rice. So it’s really 2 meals for us.
I’d use the free chicken to have a warm family Sunday gathering at the dinner table 🙂
I’d make baked sweet potatoes, Caesar salad, and more to go with this delicious chicken for one fine dinner !
