Clean, vacuum, dust, and then cook.
I have a binder with day by day tasks to prep for our Thanksgiving house guests!
It’s rare that we have overnight guests for Thanksgiving at our house. We mostly general clean the house and start preparing for dinner the night before.
Clean, cook, relax, clean, have fun!
We do not have overnight guests so I just clean a little eveyday so that I am always ready
I start cleaning weeks before and then I start cooking days before, then set the table and decorate it the day of the holiday celebration.
Clean and organize the house and prepare Christmas breakfast!
Oh my – let the house cleaning commence!! It’s like a cleaning whirlwind at the house before guests arrive, and of course we also have to whip up some great food or appetizers too.
First, decorating
Second, cleaning
Last, cooking
DEclutter
Start now! Declutter . . . vacuum under the bed . . . wash windows and mirrors . . . cook & freeze . . . anything that can be done NOW. Saves time for the big day.
First is decorating the house, which is done! Then we declutter in the bedrooms and start cleaning and last we shop for food and we do the cooking. Love the holiday season.
When I have guests coming. I clean, shop, cook.
Dust, vacuum and change bed linens in guest bedroom, add fresh flowers. Make meal menu and list for grocery store.
Decorate the table
Love holiday deals and SC Johnson products.
I clean everything – especially the refrigerator – before the holidays. I also try to declutter as much as possible before putting up decorations so it wont seem overwhelming when all the decorations are out.
clean the house
We clean, we shop, we cook, we greet, we eat—LOL!
Here are some of the things I do to prepare for guests who arrive around the holiday season:
1. Prepare a menu. I generally cook most of the meals for my guest, so I consider who is coming. any diet restrictions and how long they will stay.
2. Prepare sleeping arrangements, as well as taking note of what we might need. Pillows, blankets, etc.
3. Sightseeing and amusement, where we will go and what we will do.
4. Clean and de-clutter.
And more! Hope you have a great day!
oh wow..maybe I am too literal..but if I told you all the steps we take..gah it would be an essay..lol

We have to clean the whole house and then begin cooking the night before. Also set up extra tables for everyone that’s coming over 🙂 Always a great time of year!
Invite the guests for the special day, decorate the house in Holiday decor, clean the house, make a list of foods to buy, go to Publix with my stack of sales and coupons and buy the foods, prepare the foods and drinks, set the table, and more. I hear the door bell now- ” WELCOME GUESTS ! “. “Happy Thanksgiving to you all ! “.
When we host, I try to use Martha Stewart prep plan – that helps me spread out the tasks to do and gives me reasonable time lines! 🙂 That way I can get it all done .. just not inside 24 hrs

Just today I planned with my mom and sister-in-law for Thanksgiving; we decided who would do which food items. Also in November I try to make some cookie dough for Christmas and get it in the freezer. Also get stocking stuffers and a lot of Christmas shopping out of the way.
Lots of shopping and cleaning. Decorating the house.

We clean the house, make a shopping list, do the shopping, cook, eat, clean up then watch TV and fall asleep.
I start buying gifts early, and making list
Clean, shop, cook, eat!
I do as much as possible ahead of time (setting the table, making sure the guest room and bathroom have fresh linens and make snacks) so that I can enjoy the holidays and my company. That way I don’t have so much to do with company in the house!
Clean house ASAP! Bake something super yummy to welcome them.
I start getting ready for the holiday’s by getting rid of clutter lol and clean everything.
Then I ask a few questions of family members what they would like to see on the table.
And start gathering coupons and list of items needed at my local Publix using store coupons and matching them up.
Vickey
Clean and shop! I may get some new, fluffy towels too.
Cleaning, cooking and shopping
I start cleaning early- getting rid of clutter is the biggest step then I decorate
I follow the directions my mother wrote out for me on how to prepare a good Thanksgiving dinner. It includes step by step how to cook the turkey , dressing, goblet gravy, and sweet potato pie.
Sadly I am a huge procrastinator! The most I do is cleanup the house ahead of time. Pretty much everything else is on the fly

We never really have guests.
My first step in getting ready for guests is cleaning. Then I try to set the stage with plants, flowers and candles. Don’t over look scents. I do my best to stage a relaxed feel. I plan my menu including beverages choices for everyone. It is also fun to have games out for your guest to play. Make sure they are positioned so that people know that they are welcome to enjoy themselves. Have fun and stay relaxed.
I will be cleaning all this week. I declutter and deep clean. Then I do my shopping the weekend before and then fresh flowers and candles and fresh linens and towels in each of the rooms.
We go to our favorite Thanksgiving day restaurant. No special cleaning, prep, or purchases. Overall, much more relaxing and enjoyable.
I make a list of everything that needs to be done and then I put the list in order of what I can do now all the way down to what I need to do at the last minute!
Clean!!! Then I try to start prep cooking in advance so we can have time to visit when they come for Thanksgiving instead of me working in the kitchen the whole time.

Hire a maid to clean the house
Make list ahead of time to stock up on bogos and clean the house!
Keep the house clean!
The best thing that I do to get ready for holiday guests is keep my house clean year-round. Then when the holidays come and people are coming in and out, I don’t have to do a long, deep clean that takes forever because it’s already clean!
We usually go to other family members’ houses so we don’t have guests.
I get everyone to help with all of it. Some cook and others clean. They don’t mind.
we do tons of shopping and cleaning to gear up for company!
Do grocery shopping a few days before guest are expected and cleaning the day before.
We make sure we clean the house top to bottom and have a lot of grocery so the guest can eat and drink and feel at home.
We live in our RV so my kids do all of the hosting for our gatherings. When I did have a house, I would make list of tasks to do and groceries to buy. Cleaning was always a biggie! Christmas baking was started the week after Thankgiving and finished the last few days. Grocery shopping was the last few days as well. Decorations went up about the 15th of December and stayed up until after Jan. 1st.
We’ve gotten everything decluttered, so it’s mostly just a quick cleaning and we’re ready.
We go out of town.
I always like to ensure I have any guests favorites beverages handy! and of course lots of cooking and cleaning 🙂
My mom and I will cook as much as we can the day before Thanksgiving

Asking my husband to help
Making a list ensures you won’t be surprised with a big problem on Thanksgiving. I try to plan everything to keep the chaos to minimum
Since I don’t host any events, I don’t have to plan for a large gathering. But I do like to plan for drop-in guests and I do that by always having various types of beverages on hand.
I make lists, clean the house, shop early for dinner ingredients and prep/cook in the couple of days before the big meal.
Clean house, enlist hubby, grocery shop, cook, cook, cook!
My husband and I work as a team to vacuum and steam mop the floors, clean the bathrooms and mirrors and clean the house. I make sure all the fine dishes and glassware is clean.
