We are almost a full month into 2018. Are any of you guys still sticking to your New Year’s resolutions?
I always try to come up with goals that are achievable so that I’ll *hopefully* follow through and maintain the goal for the entire year. I always have some weight/health type goal that I make at the beginning of each year. I’m not a spring chicken so I have to be more aware of what I eat and how much I eat. When I was young I never thought about things like high cholesterol or high blood pressure but now I have to! My husband takes meds to manage both so mealtime needs to be healthy for my whole family!
This year I decided to pay more attention to nutrition labels. I know…it may not sound like a life changing goal—but the idea was for me to make better food choices. I have been checking labels and have definitely done a good job for these first three and a half weeks of 2018. Though, I did have a week where I had the flu so I didn’t even feel like eating much of anything. I am still counting that week as a success–tee hee.
Well, I’m feeling better and trying to stick to my goal. Now when I do my weekly shopping, I peek at the labels to see if it’s a good choice BEFORE it ever makes it into my cart! That way when meal time rolls around, I have the good stuff on hand.
As an example…a tasty breakfast option that I can feel good about is a yummy Lender’s Bagel with Smart Balance® Buttery Spread. When you pick up a bag of Lender’s® Bagels you’ll see that they contain no cholesterol and are low fat. You get fresh baked taste that’s quick and convenient, even for those crazy busy mornings when you need to eat and run!
Paired with the great taste of Smart Balance®, it’s the perfect way to start your day! Plus, you’ll like what you see when you read that nutrition label. Smart Balance® has no hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils, 0g trans fat and it’s made with a unique blend of oils that improves the ratio of “good” HDL to “bad” LDL. That means you don’t have to sacrifice taste for a better-for-you spread!
Even better news is that Lender’s® Bagels are BOGO right now at Publix and we have an insert coupon that makes the deal even better. Stock up and pay just 77¢ per bag for a better-for-you and delicious tasting breakfast or snack option!
