With Labor Day and the traditional end of summer coming up, I got to thinking about all the tasty ice cream recipes I’ve made and shared with you all over the last few months. Then I realized there was one dessert classic I’d somehow completely forgotten about: my Chocolate Covered Strawberry Ice Cream Parfaits. Did you know that ‘parfait’ actually translates to ‘perfect’ in French? And as far as the perfect marriage of fresh, juicy fruit and rich, indulgent ice cream goes, I’d say there’s nothing lost in translation when it comes to this amazing treat.
To make these Chocolate Covered Strawberry Ice Cream Parfaits, I prefer to start with Breyers Original Chocolate Ice Cream. Besides being almost sinfully delicious, it’s made with real cocoa and 100% Grade A milk and cream direct from Breyers’ dairy farm partners. Between the taste and their commitment to using only quality ingredients, there’s no wonder why Breyers is America’s favorite brand of chocolate ice cream.
Besides the chocolate ice cream, you’re going to need plenty of freshly chopped strawberries and some strawberry glaze for these parfaits. Oh, and don’t forget the whipped cream.
Now I like to macerate my strawberries but you can use fresh cut if you’d like. Just grab a medium-size glass and begin layering the strawberries, and then spoon in some whipped topping. Next comes a layer of strawberry glaze and that’s followed by a generous scoop of Breyers Chocolate Ice Cream. If you feel the urge you can add another dollop of whipped topping and a strawberry for garnish.
And voila! Don’t those look just incredible? And trust me, they taste even better!
I love these as a tasty date-night dessert but they’d be a fabulous (maybe even perfect?) addition to just about any type of late summer gathering or event you might be planning.
Right now you can pick up a great deal on Breyers and have this tasty treat on your table in a flash. Look for a high value coupon to save $1.50 on any flavor you love. Why not stock your freezer and serve up great taste with ease?!
