Just because you’re not supposed to play with your food, that doesn’t mean it can’t be fun or bring a smile to your face.
It doesn’t matter your age, a plate of fun food will excite anyone… young or old. And while fun food might not taste any better, it’s a super easy way to get even the pickiest eater excited at mealtime.
With the kids going back to school, packing lunches day after day can become a bit dull and ordinary. But with some imagination and a little bit of effort you can add some excitement to lunchtime.
Instead of a basic sandwich, why not grab a package of King’s Hawaiian Mini-Sub Rolls and create this Toad-ally Awesome Mini Club Sub instead?! It’s perfect for this time of year, especially after the first few weeks of back to school when “lunchbox fatigue” starts to set in. And with that light, sweet King’s Hawaiian taste kids love, this mini club sub is so good they’ll ask for it by name.
Not every kid is lucky enough to have an awesome lunch like this, though, and that’s why I appreciate King’s Hawaiian’s involvement with the No Kid Hungry campaign. Today one in six kids in America is at risk of going hungry, and No Kid Hungry is determined to change that. When you support King’s Hawaiian, they’re helping No Kid Hungry provide meals to kids in need. This isn’t just a feel-good promotion, it’s doing actual good for those least capable of changing their situation and helping themselves, and that’s a big time win-win for me.
Just snap a pic of your kiddo’s tasty lunch before September 30, 2021 and upload it to Instagram, Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #KHShareOurBread*.
Stop by the deli at your local Publix and look for a big selection of delicious King’s Hawaiian breads and rolls to help you create some lunch box magic.
Stay tuned, I’ve got a few more fun sandwich ideas coming up for all the parents looking to rock the lunchbox and keep things fun and interesting for your kiddos. And as always, I’d love to hear some of your own culinary creations in the comment section below!
*King’s Hawaiian will donate $5 to No Kid Hungry for every public post shared using #KHShareOurBread between August 15 – September 30, 2021 up to $25,000. $1 can help provide up to 10 meals. Meal equivalency varies during COVID-19 relief. No Kid Hungry does not provide individual meals; your donations help support programs that feed kids. Learn more at NoKidHungry.org/OneDollar.
Oh, how cute are those sandwiches ! That bread is so tasty too. I buy it frequently-rolls, sliced bread.
My daughter would squeal with excitement to find these in her lunchbox. I am not the kind of mom who does those labor intensive cutesy lunches but I think I could swing those precious subs!!!! Well done
