We are about to go into the second month of 2016. How many of you guys have stuck with your New Year’s resolutions so far? I know…it can be tough trying to make a change but hopefully you are sticking with it and seeing some positive results?!
One of my goals this year is to try to get my boys to start eating better. Now that doesn’t mean I am going to feed them broccoli at every meal or cut out all their cookies and desserts. I am making subtle changes and most of them are ones that they don’t even know are happening!
I have always been that mom who hides veggies in recipes. I will admit that the amount of veggies at the dinner table as gone up a considerable amount. One of the biggest changes I made was to the snack drawer in our house. It got a total makeover at the beginning of the year. I replaced many of the sugary snacks with fruits and better for you snacks.
The funny thing is…the boys haven’t really complained too much. I have been the one that’s almost slipped up a few times! I find myself at the grocery store seeing those cheap deals and I grab it to put it in my cart and then it hits me…I smile and put those fruit snacks and toaster pastries right back on the shelf!
Not too long ago I shared a tasty Snack Mix recipe that I made using Van’s Gluten-Free Honey Crunch Cereal. If you haven’t tried it…you should give it a try. It’s been a huge hit at my house and I love it because I can make it at the beginning of the week and then it lasts all week long.
This last week I changed it up a bit and whipped up easy cereal bites using Van’s Gluten-Free Honey Crunch Cereal. Now these were a bit of a treat as I used the cereal with a little butter, honey as well as coconut, some granola, peanut butter and even a few chocolate chips. The boys LOVED them!
We are all big fans of Van’s cereals. I get a quality food that I can feel good about feeding the boys. It’s because Van’s Cereals are made with simple, clean ingredients and are:
