The big game is this weekend and we are gearing up for lots of fun! I have put together a big list of snacks and appetizers that I’ll be preparing for our guests. I have a huge assortment of tasty dishes that I know everyone will love.
My husband teases me saying that I don’t need to bother with any fruits or vegetables for the party. He says that this is a “guy party” and guys want meat! I think his exact words were…”just give us some sausage and bacon and more bacon and sausage and we’ll be alright!”
I am going to have a couple of healthy options tucked in my spread but I am giving the guys what they want. One of the best recipes that I’ll be putting out on Sunday is a fabulous little gem called a “Pig In Heaven“. Now these babies are the ultimate party food. What you do is wrap Wright® Brand Bacon around Hillshire Farm Lit’l Smokies® and cook them until the bacon is golden brown. Oh my, they are just incredible and quite addicting.
They are super easy to put together and you can bake up a big batch in a flash. I typically bake them and then keep them warm in a chafing dish or even toss them in my slow cooker on the warm setting. Not that it really matters though! These are always very popular and they are usually one of the first things to disappear.
What’s nice is that you can change them up just by changing out the dipping sauce. Sometimes I serve them with a mustard based sauce then other times I go for something sweet. I think I’ll let my husband decide which sauce he wants for the party this time.
These are perfect if you have a large group or just an intimate gathering. You can make just what you need. No matter the occasion, Lit’l Smokies are easy to make and easy to enjoy. The addition of Wright Brand Bacon means you get bigger, thicker slices with that heartier, more robust flavor. It’s everything you love about bacon … only better.
We got some great coupons in the inserts this weekend that will help you put these together at a great discount. Be sure to clip your coupons and whip up a delicious treat for your gathering!
