Movie night is my favorite part of the week. It’s a little time each week where we can sit together in one spot and unwind. The boys put away all their electronics. We pop up some popcorn and enjoy some family entertainment that’s easy on the budget.
Last week the boys were in charge of picking the movie so I decided to surprise them with a fun treat. Instead of plain popcorn, I made a big batch of Fruity Pebbles Popcorn.
I had picked up a box thanks to the big Publix Digital coupon. Remember you can save a buck on a box of the cereal when you load the coupon and grab a box now through 4/30.
This recipe is crazy simple and will take you maybe 5 minutes to put together. Just be sure to make it ahead of time as you will need a little bit of time to allow the chocolate to harden. I made it while the boys were in school and just let it set up while I ran out to carpool. As you can see, Jake came home and was so excited to see the treat. He decided he needed a little sample before I packaged it up into our snack bowls.
Now you can add a little fun to your morning (or your movie night) with the addition of Marshmallow Fruity Pebbles.
New Marshmallow Fruity Pebbles is a gluten-free, sweetened rice cereal with marshmallows and a rainbow of fruity flavors that make mornings rock! Like the original Fruity Pebbles, you still get that vibrant color and great crunch. The tiny, pebble-shaped pieces fill your spoon and mouth with fun. With the addition of the new marshmallows you can kickstart your day with a burst of creative energy.
Try this recipe for your next movie night or the next time you need a fun treat and let me know what you think!
- 8 cups popped popcorn
- 12 oz white chocolate chips
- 2 1/2 cups Marshmallow Fruity Pebbles®
- Melt the white chocolate in a double boiler until melted (or microwave as directed on package).
- Mix the popcorn and Marshmallow Fruity Pebbles® in a large bowl and then pour the melted chocolate over the mixture.
- Mix well until everything is coated.
- Pour the chocolate covered mixture out onto wax or parchment paper and allow to cool/harden.
- Once the chocolate has hardened you can break into pieces and serve!
