I clean from one end to the other. Floors, carpets, bathrooms counters everything.
vacuum up the pet hair
About the only thing I really do is get the guest room ready…clean sheets on the bed, dust the furniture, vacuum the carpet, and give the guest bath a once over.
I make sure guests have an extra glass of wine so they don’t notice the mess 🙂
I just love this comment. We could so be friends, lol.
I clean everything start at one end of the house and end at the other if I can get my son and husband involved that is always a plus too!
i use the swiffer duster to quickly get rid of fine dust/pet hair on furniture…..it is a must-have for those with pets and really does get the fine dust out in one swipe!
I start cleaning a week before my guests arrive. The first thing I do is make a list of what I want to accomplish. Then I take an inventory of my cleaning supplies so I can stock up before it is time to clean. I divide my cleaning list into several different days so I don’t become overwhelmed. About the same routine as spring cleaning but I don’t go through every cabinet and drawer:)
I liked Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day® Facebook page. It really is a great source of information.
I put all 5 of my kids into action. They call it the “Cleaning Frenzy!”
I flip properties. Clean it like a buyer is coming over….
I try to keep up with the cleaning on a daily basis-I find it so much easier to keep things picked up, counters clean, etc. daily. I keep cleaners, paper towels, etc in each bathroom and kitchen ready so I don’t have to hunt for supplies.

Start cleaning a week before anyone comes
it is just easier to keep it clean and not have to go into a frenzy when someone is coming over
I have Liked the Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Facebook page
I love my guests to feel like they are staying at a hotel so I make sure I have extra stuff like body wash, new bath poufs, extra toothbrushes and whatnot on hand and then I clean. And since I have guests coming, I want everything to smell nice to so instead of using a separate cleaner and fragrance mist, I will now use Mrs. Meyers (I bought the lavender and I’m in love! Even my husband commented on the fragrance!) to clean. I also just purchased the basil scent that might be the winning scent for my kitchen. I try my best to make my guests think they are visiting someplace special and small things like that help!
A little dusting and pillow fluffing. I also love air freshener, usually a mix of spray and plug-in.
For a last minute dusting, use baby wipes. My house gets dusty daily from the a/c so its something necessary at the very last minute.
Oh Goodie another chance to win for my big birthday party and for Mrs Meyers
I don’t have a lot of tips as well clean everyday as I go. Therefore, my tip tips a decor tips for guest bedrooms and bath.
Of course fresh linens, assorted magazines and books, if no allergies..flowers a nightlight and assorted treat basket.
Thanks

Bathrooms. Kitchen. Clutter. Done. 😉
Try to keep clean as I go along so just a quick spruce up before guests arrive!
We always keep our guest bathroom ready for guests by stocking it with new toothbrushes, toothpaste, new bars of soap, and basically all personal items one might need. Also, keep a set of “good” towels ready to hang for your guests. Vacuum, dust, wipe countertops. Be sure to sweep off the front outside entrance and shake off the welcome mat. Also, wipe the refrigerator inside and out just in case your guests decides to open the door to grab a drink, etc. Also, freshen by using plug-ins and pleasantly scented candles before guests arrive.
Lemon Verbena Multi-Surface & Glass cleaner make quick work of clean up and leave house smelling great!
Well I hide all staff I usually keep in our living-dinning room (like coupon inserts, ads, magazines) in our spare room. Then clean floors, bathrooms and remove the dust.

Just about the only time I dust from top to bottom is when guests are coming over.

Throw the clutter from the table upstairs and light a candle!
I usually have the kind of guests who just pop over or only give me 10 minutes heads-up that they’re stopping by. So I usually keep clutter out of the living room by reminding everyone in the house to clean up after themselves and don’t leave anything lying around. Also, I grab the multi-surface cleaner and a few pages out of a newspaper (leaves no smudges) and try to wipe down all the windows and mirrors quickly!
Start high and clean moving down.
Dust last.
Baskets at top and bottom of stairs to fill each way to cut down on trips
Go through mail the same day I get it.
Clean with healthy products only.

I start at the beginning of the house and go backwards. If I don’t get the entire house cleaned, at least the living areas are done
Follow Meyer’s on FB.
I keep up with cleaning and straightening the home on a regular basis, so I just light a couple of candles and wait on their arrival.
I usually clean the bathroom as soon as I know we are gonna have company and pick up the toys in the living room. I’m a stay at home mom, homeschooler and a pastor’s wife so we have people stop by unannounced all the time (at least call or text your pastor’s wife before knocking on the door)! LOL!
I do most of my cleaning the day before. Then all I have to do is a little light cleaning the day of.
I like to make sure everything is picked up for my guests so they don’t have to look at my mess. I get this done by using foldable cubes that are stackable. You can stuff them full of things, and it even helps with organization.

My cleaning tip is. . . ALWAYS make sure the bathrooms are clean! A guest can understand a little dust, or a stray item laying on the couch, but never a dirty bathroom! THAT tells the difference between a clean home that is just lived in, or a dirty home!
I put all my cleaning tools in a basket to carry around..
My bathrooms have to be spotless. Even the shower. (You never know who’s going to be nosey. Hehe )
Magic Erasers and Mr. Clean seem to always work for me.
I make sure the guest bathroom and bedroom are clean and if I have time, I pick up the rest of the house.

I agree that bathrooms should be spotless as well as the kitchen. Those are the rooms most care about. Try to pick up in most living areas and close the bedroom doors. 🙂
I give the living room a quick vacumning and dusting……and put stuff in the bedroom and close the doors….
I always make sure that the bathroom is cleaned, and the floor is swept. Then I always wipe down the table and counters with Mrs. Meyers to get the house smelling clean and fresh… Works every time!

Planing is everything. Cleaning can be overwhelming so I try to clean space each day until my house is clean. It works great and if you plan it out your house can be done in a week.

I like to mop my floor before my family comes home for a visit. The smell of a fresh mopped floor makes my whole house smell very nice.

Hide clutter in the spare room and lock the door.
Wow! Mrs.Meyers display case of their popular products is almost empty at my Publix store today. People must be taking advantage of the % off and coupons in the Publix Spring Savings flier ! Maybe they are stocking up and getting ready for their guests with the multitude of garden cleaning scents of Mrs. Meyers from multi surface cleaners and more, just like I am doing now ! 🙂
I printed out a cleaning “schedule” from Martha Stewart to take the stress out of hosting gatherings! So, if it’s a drop by guest, I do a “once over” for our main areas guests will see/use. Clean up papers and clutter (I have a box in our study to put them in so I can go through them later), wipe down the guest bathroom, light candles and do a quick vacuum of the areas! For big gatherings (like family dinner at the holidays), I use the MS plan to include polishing silver, setting our dining room table, dusting, mopping, and food prep. Her planner helps take the stress out by giving daily to do’s that are manageable! 🙂
Get the whole family involved and listen to music to make it go faster.
We use newspaper instead of paper towels for cleaning all the glass doors, an do it in the morning when the sunlight shows any flaws.

I do my “20-minute panic” first. What I mean is, I noticed that I will easily get sidetracked while cleaning up for a big gathering, and I will end up cleaning a lot of non-critical areas at the beginning. So, first I pretend I only have 20 minutes until everyone will be there, and I go through the whole house as quickly as possible to make it look presentable, getting all the clutter in a box, cleaning small but important areas like the bathroom and kitchen sinks and sweeping the front hallway. Then after my “20-minute panic”, I go through and actually tidy up the areas. That way, if one of my children has a meltdown or something comes up and I cannot finish everything I was hoping to do, things already started out looking clean.
Kids, Red Alert – Bathrooms and Kitchen clean like the president is coming!!! Bedrooms, hide floor mess in closets and DON’T OPEN! Then we decide which access point we will use to the backyard and clean along that pathway. Oh yeah, kids always want to look in the frig, so we make sure there isn’t anything too old.
Now if someone comes with less than a couple hours notice, they get what they get.
Start in one room, clear, organize, dust, vacuum or mop, and move to the next room. Keep it rolling

Cleaning the entryway and bathroom are first priority. Remove the shoe clutter, grocery bags, vacuum the rug and floor to create a good first impression. Spray Febreze. In the bathroom, clean the sink, toilet and floor. Empty the garbage and lay out fresh towels. Light a scented candle for ambiance.
Start at the top and work down. That way I don’t get more dirt on my clean floors!!
I go on a cleaning rampage for about 3 days before!

Today I am expecting guests, as it’s my husband’s 39th birthday. My usual go-to’s when I have guests coming over are to sweep the tile floors, followed by a mop using fabuloso (because I love the smell of it!). I then vacuum the non-tiled areas, followed by a wipe down of EVERYTHING using clorox wipes. I think my family should take stock in clorox with the amount we use! HAHA! Then I TRY to keep the kids still until guests arrive, or else it’ll look like a tornado just came through and my cleaning will have been in vain. 🙂

Vacum, clear the counters, and wipe down the bathroom
I wipe down the kitchen counters and clear them of odd and ends that have been lleft out. as that is the place where we seem to congregate the most.

I always start with the bathrooms. Then a general pick up of clutter. If time allows, I wipe down the kitchen, then sweep the entire downstairs.
Hope this is not the one I entered already, but I love using this to clean for my cats, the fruity, lemon like one was wonderful. They are my BFF’s

Clean the toilets, declutter and sweep the floor! We have primarily hardwoods, so if the floor is clean from debris, the rest of the house looks cleaner…then plug in the scented oils and it smells and looks clean, even if it’s faux clean…haha! Thanks so much for the chance to win! 🙂
We don’t do alot of parties, but if we know family is coming over we just do a once over. They are family after all and don’t always announce their intentions, so they have to accept that the house isn’t perfect anyway. We and the pets all live here.
Love Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day products! Makes my home smell great and cleans well! Although the lavender is my favorite I am looking forward to trying some of the other scents. With the great sale at Publix I’ve really stocked up 🙂

My cleaning tips when getting my home prepared for guest are to clean the door glass vacuum the hall and dust the living room and bake some fresh cookies so the house smells good.

Spray down bathroom and let it sit for awhile…go dust the house, then wipe down with lysol wipes and then clean the mirrors, finally sweep the floors =)
I like to have a list and split up the work with the kids. Then everything gets done and quicker
Since at some point guests will need to use the restroom, I like to give it special attention and make sure it is spotless and smells great. I’ll use a nice smelling toilet bowl cleaner to scrub it down and after flushing put another small amount to leave in the bowl so the wonderful scent lingers. I might also use an air freshener like Febreze for Small Spaces on the lowest setting so it’s just enough but doesn’t overpower.
If I’m expecting guest, I always make sure to clean up the day before. Moping, sweeping, dusting and vacuuming the my whole house. My kids usually help out by cleaning up their rooms and my son helps throw out the trash.
Mrs. Meyers Clean Day’s Rosemary multi-surface, dish soap, and hand soap is my favorite for guests. It is a relaxing smelling herb. I have rosemary herbs in front and back of my home, which I add to my chicken and potatoes for guests. So clean products with rosemary complete my theme for guests : Rosemary !
