I don’t think it’s any secret that we are a bacon loving family. Of course we enjoy bacon as a side with our breakfast, I find that I am constantly using bacon in my dinner recipes. There is just something about that delicious taste that we can’t get enough of here at my house!
Of course when you combine the great tastes of pizza and bacon that’s when my guys are happiest! So you can imagine when I served up this Bacon Wrapped Pizza, my guys about flipped! Yes, it tastes as good as it sounds and it’s super easy to make. You only need a few ingredients and you can put this together for your family pizza night!
With the great taste of the new Jimmy Dean Bacon, you’ll have a meal that will have your family rushing to the table.
The Jimmy Dean brand is expanding and now offering fresh premium bacon. Pick up a thicker cut bacon that delivers the great taste and consistent quality that you have come to expect from the Jimmy Dean brand. You can now find the bacon at Publix in two tasty varieties –
- Hickory Smoked
- Applewood Smoked
Father’s Day is this weekend and this would be a fantastic recipe for the guys. I don’t know too many dads who would pass this one up. This restaurant inspired deep dish pizza has Jimmy Dean bacon wrapped around the edges and is baked to bubbly perfection. The crumbled bacon and melted mozzarella cheese paired well with basil and garlic tomato sauce in this deep dish wonder. The best part is that it comes together in a flash. Just grab a few ingredients at Publix and treat your favorite guy to a tasty treat!
- 1 (1 lb.) package Jimmy Dean Bacon
- 1 (13.8 ounce) can refrigerated pizza crust
- ½ cup sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Preheat oven at 425°F.
- Line the outside of a 13”x 9”x 1” quarter sheet baking pan with 5 slices of bacon, overlapping.
- Unroll the pizza crust into the center of the pan and spread to touch the bacon.
- Top with sauce and cheese and place into the oven for 15 minutes.
- While the pizza is cooking, slice the remaining bacon into small pieces and cook in a large skillet for 10 minutes over medium-high heat.
- Drain the bacon on a paper towel lined plate and spread on top of the pizza.
- Continue to cook for 10-15 minutes or until the bottom of the pizza is golden brown and the bacon strips are crisp.

My Daddy passed away from a massive heart attack 10 years ago and now thinking back I love every single memory of him even the bickering when I was a teenager. But my most favorite thing to do with him when he was here was helping him mow the lawn because my daddy was real old fashioned and believed yard work was for men and growing up my brothers helped outside while I helped my mom inside. But after I was grown I moved out of state for a while and I had to learn how to do those things. He was really shocked and proud at the same time that I knew how to take care of myself. I know he is looking down at me today with that same proud feeling as I try and teach my boys to be hardworking just like their granddaddy.

My dad passed away when I was young but my grandfather was very much a father to me.
