Before things get too busy, I always try to make some extra meals that can go into freezer. Happy Holidays!
I don’t prepare anything early….never have and probably never will. It was the way I was taught. Just get up and do it…..but it does seem much easier now.
I never manage to prepare early, but I dream of doing so every year! maybe one day!

To pre prep for any even or holidays, I stock up on items when they’re on sale and I know that I will be using them. Then as the day approaches, I cook what I can a day ahead and just reheat in the oven or pre prep the ingredients.
I found a recipe for make ahead turkey gravy. It will take the stress out of trying to make it on Thanksgiving Day.
My work place lets us leave at noon on the Wed before Thanksgiving. I use that time to prep and then cokk everything the next morning.
Go to my brother’s house.! 🙂
Bring the beer and wine
I will purchase everything I need beforehand and not get stressed dealing with crowds and empty shelves right before.
We always prep the night before as much as we can to save time.
I am always half bake the biscuits a night before, make the cranberry sauce from scratch a day or 2 early so the flavor can set.
Get things cleaned and house ready the week of and as much pre-prepped as possible.
Have the turkey prepped and ready to go the night before.
I chop any veggies I can the night before to save time!
I preassemble my casseroles and pie crusts, saves sooooo much time.
Make my menu, then my grocery list off of it. I will shop for everything before the week of Thanksgiving so I can avoid the crowds that wait until the last minute. And Wednesday night before Thanksgiving we will get dinner from Publix deli. YUM!!!
The weekend before, we deep clean the house. Everyone helps!
I bake cookies with my daughter all day. It gets dessert prepared for all of our holiday gatherings and gives a good chance to visit.
I chop my vegetables and freeze them so when I get ready to cook all I have to do take what I need out of the freezer, it saves me so much time.
Most of the sides are made and frozen on the weekend before so all I have to do is the big bird!
I try to make my pies and deserts the day before so that all I have to worry about is dinner on the day of Thanksgiving.
I usually go over a relative’s house, but will bring a few items for our meal together.

I prepare the whole Thanksgiving dinner for my family of 15 people. I shop and purchase everything from Publix and I start preparing 2 days ahead of time. Thank goodness for ziploc brand products.

I bake cookies, muffins, breads,etc and freeze them. So easy to have them ready for when I need them.
Chop what needs to chopped….cook any sides the day before that taste better as they sit and then just get the bird done on Thanksgiving.

We begin the day before by making the pies and stuffing plus prep anything else. A few years ago, we started to not make as many side dishes and that has helped.
I always go to a friend’s house for dinner and only need to bring one item so no stress!
I make homemade yeast rolls that I prepare the night before, cook my turkey and all I have to do the next more is prepare the rest of our meal.
I think the most helpful thing will be to keep the house clean little by little each day so it isn’t like “oh crud, I need to clean!” at the last second.

What I am doing to prep and save time this holiday is getting my baking and some cooking done early and put in the freezer!
My husband is taking the turkey over to his parents to cook, so we have space in the oven for side dishes and pie!
I will make a couple of lists before things get too busy. One for what I need to buy and another for things that I need to do. Having lists to follow helps reduce my stress and keep my mind clear.

I’ll be making many of my Thanksgiving Dishes the day before this year, so all I’ll have to do it heat them up on the big day. That goes for deserts too.
We don’t usually cook for any of the holidays. Other family members host and we just show up. Next year may be different if we are in our new house and manage to host Thanksgiving for the first time in 10 years (hasn’t happened since my son was born 9 years ago).

For the last two Thanksgivings, we’ve gotten the Jennie-O oven ready bone-in turkey breast which turned out great both times and doesn’t require really any prep so we’ll probably get one this year too.

I buy all the food and supplies I need at Publix way ahead of time. I make the turkey the day before, as well as dessert.

I make some dishes the night before Thanksgiving and Clean one area of the house each day for a week.
We will get the ingredients early and organize them ready for making and baking the next morning. We are also reducing the number of dishes we serve as there is only 4 adults.

I do most of my cooking on Wednesday. I handle all of the sides, while my sister bakes all of the desserts and my mother prepares the turkey. Divide and conquer!

Mashed potatoes are easy to make a day ahead. Also, when a guest asks if they can bring something, I take them up on it!
