Milk is one of those things that most folks buy on a weekly basis. It’s likely on your grocery list week after week.
I know I always have milk handy. My boys have a glass of milk each morning for breakfast and I use milk in my many of recipes each week. It’s a kitchen staple and an ingredient that most folks would consider a necessity.
So how often have you really taken the time to think about the milk that you purchase each week? I can honestly say that it’s never crossed my mind. So when the folks at Elmhurst emailed asking if I’d like to try their nutmilks, I decided to take them up on their offer.
They sent over all 4 of their varieties for us to check out –
- Almond Milk – Light, creamy and slightly sweet with a hint of vanilla and almond. Crisp and clean with excellent flavor consistent and a texture comparable to cow’s milk
- Walnut Milk – Smooth, earthy and pure with a strong walnut flavor. Creamy and comforting without tasting heavy.
- Cashew Milk – Smooth, creamy and mild with a delicate, slightly buttery flavor. Refreshing, light and perfect or cereal.
- Hazelnut Milk – Light, creamy and comforting with an appealing hazelnut flavor and a hint of chocolate or coffee. Sweet and satisfying with a nutty aroma and a refreshing, lingering aftertaste.
Now I thought that nutmilk would be really thin and watery but it was quite the opposite! Each Elmhurst milk was creamy with it’s own unique flavor. I kinda assumed that I’d prefer the almond milk since that is the one you always hear about. Instead, we all agreed that the top choice for us was the hazelnut milk. It had a slightly sweet flavor and the perfect consistency. Boy oh boy, it was fantastic in my recipes and it made an absolutely AMAZING hot chocolate!
I was very pleased to find that besides great taste, all of the Elmhurst Milked products are non-GMO, gluten free, vegan, dairy free, lactose free and kosher. That means it perfect for just about everyone.
You can feel good about adding this milk to your cart. You see unlike many other brands, Elmhurst starts with the whole ingredient, sourced transparently from partner farms and processed without any of the emulsifiers, thickeners or stablilizers used by other leading brands.
So next time you are strolling through the dairy section at Publix, grab a carton of Elmhurst Milked and enjoy great taste that you can feel good about bringing home to your family.

I’ve never heard of hazelnut milk, but my daughter has been asking to make hot chocolate for the past few weeks now, so will definitely grab this and give it a try!
Michelle – you gave me my laugh of the day. In the post above: “Cashew Milk – Smooth, creamy and mild with a delicate, slightly butty flavor. Refreshing, light and perfect or cereal.”
