You guys know that I am a tea fanatic. I am also a dessert-a-holic. So what do you get when you cross my two favorite things? Yep, you get a dessert made with tea!
My TAZO Zen Watermelon Granita recipe came about while I was enjoying a cup of TAZO Zen Tea and cutting up a big watermelon. I’d take a sip of tea then eat a bite of watermelon and thought that the two paired together so nicely. I decided to take half of my watermelon and use it for a granita with some Zen tea mixed in.
You know what…it was amazing!
If you are a fan of watermelon granita, you have got to try my recipe. With the addition of the lemongrass and spearmint flavors that’s in the TAZO Zen Tea you get a dessert that light, refreshing and the perfect way to finish a meal. Heck it’s also perfect as a tasty mid-day treat.
The prep is quite simple but you will have to rake or scrape the granita every couple of hours to get that perfect texture. Don’t worry, it’s super easy…just set a timer and you’ll be good to go! With about 10 minutes or prep and 3 – 4 hours in the freezer, you end up with a semi-frozen treat with a texture somewhere between an Italian ice, slushie and/or snow cone.
Remember now is the perfect time to grab your tea. All your favorite TAZO Teas are on sale for $2.99 as part of the Extra Saving Flyer valid 9/26 through 10/9. Add in the coupon and you’ll save another $1 on your purchase. Get your favorite flavors or take the opportunity to try something new.
Grab a watermelon when you shop and try this tasty granita. Be sure to come back and let me know what you think!
